I purchased this battery as a backup for the Canon battery that came with my SD780 camera. I have tested it, and it works fine.I do not know if that is the battery life per charge as long as the Canon, but my experience with other backup batteries is that life is usually a little shorter. However, for the price you cannot go wrong.As another reviewer wrote, even if the backup battery is dead on arrival, only for another, or two to boot, the price is right..
